Meet your private guide at Piazza San Marco before heading into the Accademia Gallery, tickets already arranged. Stand before Michelangelo's David, carved from a single block of marble once abandoned by two other sculptors, along with several of Michelangelo's unfinished works nearby.
Piazza della Signoria

Walk past the Duomo and into Piazza della Signoria, where a replica of David has stood in the original statue's exact spot since 1910. Your guide explains why the real David left the square in 1873, and what it meant for Florence to have its most famous symbol on public display for centuries.

Step inside the Bargello, once Florence’s medieval prison and now home to some of the city’s greatest sculptures. See Donatello’s David, the first freestanding nude bronze since antiquity, then let your guide reveal a fourth David most visitors never learn exists.
