Itinerary

  1. Zaisan Hill Monument

    one hour

Enjoy best panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar from the famous Zaisan Hill Monument. Located on a hill overlooking the city, Zaisan offers travelers a chance to see Ulaanbaatar from above while learning about Mongolia’s modern history.

After reaching the monument, you will walk up the steps to the memorial, where you can admire the large Soviet-Mongolian mosaic depicting important moments in the history of Mongolia and its relationship with the Soviet Union. Your guide will explain the meaning and historical background of the monument.

From the top, take in breathtaking views of Ulaanbaatar, including the city center, surrounding mountains, the Tuul River valley, and the expanding ger districts. This is also a great place to take photos and experience the contrast between Ulaanbaatar’s modern cityscape and its traditional ger districts.

You will have free time to explore the monument, enjoy the scenery, and capture memorable photos before continuing to the next stop on your journey.

  2. Sukhbaatar Square

    30 min

Visit the heart of Ulaanbaatar at Sukhbaatar Square, the city’s main public square and an important center of Mongolia’s political and cultural life.

Here, travelers will see the impressive Sukhbaatar Monument, dedicated to Damdin Sükhbaatar, one of the key figures in Mongolia’s modern history. You will also have the opportunity to admire the grand Government Palace, which stands at the northern end of the square, along with surrounding historic and modern buildings.

Take a leisurely walk around the square, enjoy the lively atmosphere of central Ulaanbaatar, and have time to take photos of the monuments and architecture. Sukhbaatar Square is also an excellent place to observe everyday city life and experience the contrast between Mongolia’s historical heritage and its modern capital.

  3. Narantuul Market

    one hour

Experience the lively atmosphere of Narantuul Market, one of Ulaanbaatar’s largest and most colorful markets and a fascinating place to observe everyday life in Mongolia.

Walk through the busy market with your guide and discover a wide variety of goods, from traditional Mongolian clothing and household items to souvenirs, leather products, cashmere, boots, camping equipment, and everyday essentials. The market is a great place to see how local people shop, trade, and interact in their daily lives.

  4. Gandantegchenling Monastery

    one hour Admission not included

Discover one of Mongolia’s most important Buddhist monasteries and experience the spiritual side of Ulaanbaatar at Gandantegchinlen Monastery.

During your visit, you will explore the monastery complex, admire its traditional Buddhist architecture, and learn about the history of Buddhism in Mongolia. Your guide will explain the role of Buddhism in Mongolian culture and how the monastery has remained an important religious center through Mongolia’s changing history.

  5. Stop 5

    one hour

Step beyond the city center and discover a different side of Ulaanbaatar by exploring one of the city’s traditional ger districts. This experience offers travelers a glimpse into the everyday life, culture, and unique urban landscape of Mongolia’s capital.

As you travel through the ger district, you will see traditional Mongolian gers alongside modern houses, small shops, schools, and local businesses. Your guide will explain how these communities developed and how the rapid growth of Ulaanbaatar has shaped the lives of people living on the outskirts of the city.

The experience also provides a fascinating contrast with central Ulaanbaatar, allowing you to see both the modern capital and the more traditional side of Mongolian urban life.

This is an authentic cultural experience for travelers who want to go beyond the usual tourist attractions and gain a deeper understanding of contemporary Mongolia and the people who call Ulaanbaatar home.
