About this activity

You get an instructor of your own. They are not watching a group, only you, so nervous divers and non-swimmers can go at their own pace.

You choose where to dive. We take beginners to 8 different reefs around Havelock, from Red Pillar and Tribe Gate close to the jetty to quiet Turtle Beach on the south-east coast. Each reef has its own price, shown in the options.

The price includes GST, the speedboat, all equipment, 30 photos and 3 videos, and hotel pickup and drop within 5 km.

Itinerary

Scuba diving in Havelock for first-timers. You do not need to know swimming, and your own instructor stays with you for the whole dive. We pick you up from your hotel and bring you to our dive centre in Govind Nagar. You fill in a short medical form and we fit your gear. Then your instructor teaches you the basics in shallow water: breathing through the regulator, clearing your mask and the hand signals. Next, a speedboat takes you to the reef you picked, 5 to 15 minutes away. You go down slowly along a rope with your instructor and spend about 30 minutes underwater, never deeper than 12 metres. You will see coral gardens, clownfish and parrotfish, and at some reefs turtles or reef sharks. A photographer films your dive, and you get 30 photos and 3 videos on WhatsApp the same day. After the dive we drop you back at your hotel.

Free pickup and drop from hotels within 5 km of our dive centre in Govind Nagar. Hotels farther away, such as at Radhanagar Beach or Kalapathar, can be picked up for an extra charge; our team will tell you the amount on WhatsApp. We confirm your pickup time on WhatsApp the day before.

Using your ticket

Show your Viator booking on your phone to our driver at pickup, or at the Frogman dive centre in Govind Nagar. A printed copy is not needed.

After booking, please send a WhatsApp message to +91 95319 24029 with your name, booking number and hotel, so we can fix your pickup time.

Before the dive every guest fills in a short medical form. If you answer yes to any medical question, you will need a doctor's note saying you are fit to dive. Guests under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign.

Please do not fly within 18 hours after your dive.
