About this activity

Escape the city and explore the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains—less than two hours from Sydney. This full-day tour blends nature, culture, and discovery through dramatic landscapes and hidden gems. Spot native wildlife, walk beneath towering cliffs through eucalyptus forests and fern-filled gullies, to arrive at a secluded waterfall. Admire the legendary Three Sisters and gain insight into Aboriginal culture through respectful storytelling. Pause for lunch in Leura, known for its leafy streets, artisan cafés, and oversized savory pies—hearty, delicious, and perfect for a midday break. Visit a wildlife park to encounter kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and more. Time permitting, enjoy a brief detour through Sydney Olympic Park, home of the 2000 Summer Games. Take the opportunity to skip the afternoon traffic and cruise on the ferry back to the city, then walk to your accommodation at your own pace.

Itinerary

  1. Wentworth Falls Lookout

    one hour Admission included

Enjoy vast views from the top lookout or choose to take the short but steep walk to Princess Rock Lookout to marvel at the waterfall as it plunges 187 metres to the valley floor. Fit walkers can continue along the under‑cliff track via Fletchers Lookout to Wentworth Falls where Jamison Creek cascades into a shallow pool to one side and the magnificent Jamison Valley opens out on the other.

  2. The Three Sisters

    one hour Admission included

A journey through the Blue Mountains would not be complete without pausing for the region’s most iconic panorama — the Three Sisters rising above the valley floor. Hear the creation story of the rock formation and learn about the Aboriginal connection to ancestors’ land. Continue to Cahill Lookout for sweeping views across the Jamison and Megalong Valleys, separated by Narrow Neck, a defining sandstone ridge, before moving on through the national park.

  3. Leura Mall

    one hour

Explore the delightful charms of the boutique garden village. Relish scrumptious savoury pie at the renowned Bakehouse or pick one of many rustic restaurants and caffes for a freshly cooked meal (lunch at own expense).

  4. Sydney Zoo

    1 h 30 min Admission not included

Step into a leafy bushland sanctuary and meet some of Australia’s most fascinating native animals. Wander past enclosures home to wombats, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, reptiles, and a variety of bird species. Enter the koala habitat for an intimate encounter and spend time observing kangaroos and wallabies as they roam freely in their open environment — a relaxed and memorable wildlife experience.

  5. Sydney Olympic Park

    55 min Admission not included

Choose to end your day with a scenic 55‑minute ferry journey along the Parramatta River, drift beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge and past the Sydney Opera House before arriving at Circular Quay. From here, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the waterfront precinct as you make your own way back to your accommodation Current page. If preferred, you may skip the ferry and return directly to your hotel by private vehicle.
