  1. Hveragerdi

    Some like it hot! Located 45 kilometers (28 mi) east from Reykjavik, Hveragerdi is the charming gateway town to South Iceland that is set in a large geothermal area and is often referred to as the ‘flower village,’ because of the many greenhouses there.

  2. Selfoss

    Selfoss town has been rapidly growing for the last few years, much faster than the national average. It is within a one-hour drive of all Iceland’s major nature attractions in the south, including the Golden Circle wonders and the South Coast waterfalls and black sand beaches.

  3. Seljalandsfoss waterfall

    Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. It is approx. 60 meters tall and it is breathtakingly beautiful.

  4. Skogafoss

    Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of some 60 meters and a width of 25 meters. You can walk right up to it but be prepared to be drenched. It is overwhelming standing next to it.

    Vik í Myrdal, or just Vik, is the southernmost village on the Icelandic mainland, located 110 miles (186 kilometers) from the capital Reykjavik. It's just next to Reynisfjara black sand beach.

  7. Diamond Beach

    This is a unique place in the world, where icebergs float down from a glacier lagoon to a black sand beach. The beach and the amount of ice cubes are constantly changing, the amount depends on how many icebergs are on the lagoon itself and how many are coming down with the river to the beach. Sometimes you can be lucky and find many icebergs and sometime there are few of them.

  8. Jokulsarlon

    50 min

    Jokulsarlon is Iceland’s most famous glacier lagoon, located in Southeast Iceland by Route 1, about halfway between the Skaftafell Nature Reserve and the town of Hofn. It's a popular stop when traveling along the South Coast or around the Ring Road.
