About this activity

Discover Dordrecht on a private walking tour through the oldest city of Holland. With your own knowledgeable local guide, you explore a historic city shaped by trade, water, and faith.

Once the economic heart of medieval Holland, Dordrecht played a key role in the early history of the Dutch Republic. During this private guided tour, you walk along historic harbors, cobbled streets, and past elegant merchant houses, while your guide explains the city’s importance in trade and politics. You see the imposing Grote Kerk and hear about the First Assembly of the Free States in 1572.

The private tour of Dordrecht takes place entirely on foot in the compact historic center and normally lasts about 1.5 hours. Because this is a private walking tour, the pace and focus can be adapted to your interests.

This guided walking tour is ideal for travelers who want depth, historical context, and a quieter alternative to the larger Dutch cities.

We will pass by the Big Church of Dordrecht. The oldest parts of this church date back to the late 13th century! Now it is still an icon of the city.

We will not skip the town hall of Dordrecht. This building has quite a history, going back to the 16th century. The current facade however, is a product of the 19th century.
