Day 1 · Mombasa- Tsavo National Park East, Kenya

Day 1: Pickup from Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Begin your safari with a morning pickup from your hotel in Mombasa and a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and most iconic wildlife reserves. Along the way, enjoy views of the Kenyan countryside and small villages.

Arriving at Tsavo East, dive into your first game drive. Known for its open plains, the park is home to famous red-dust elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and more. You’ll visit highlights like the Galana River and the stunning Yatta Plateau, which holds one of the longest lava flows in the world.

After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you’ll settle into your safari lodge or camp for a relaxing evening and dinner, immersed in the natural surroundings of Tsavo East.

Lunch and Dinner will be served at a camp within Tsavo East National Park.

After a midday break and lunch at your camp or a picnic spot, continue with afternoon game drives as animals emerge in the cooler hours. Look out for Tsavo's unique red-dust elephants and vibrant birdlife.
