Itinerary

  1. Irabu Ohashi

    40 min

Begin your Miyakojima sightseeing journey with views of Irabu Bridge, one of Okinawa's most impressive ocean crossings.

Travel across the bridge connecting Miyako Island and Irabu Island while admiring the brilliant turquoise sea stretching in both directions.

Enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding water and discover why the island's distinctive ocean colors are known as "Miyako Blue."

Where parking is permitted, stop at a designated viewpoint for photographs of the bridge and surrounding coastline.

This is a sightseeing and photography experience. Stopping on the bridge itself is not permitted.

The exact viewpoint depends on parking availability, road conditions, and the day's sightseeing schedule.

  2. Sunayama Beach

    50 min

Discover Sunayama Beach, a scenic coastal location known for its soft white sand, turquoise water, and distinctive natural rock formations.

Follow the sandy path leading toward the beach, where beautiful coastal views appear beyond the dunes.

Enjoy time for photography, a short beach walk, and appreciating the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful island setting.

The combination of white sand, rocky formations, and blue water makes Sunayama Beach one of Miyakojima's most recognizable sightseeing locations.

The walking route includes a sandy slope and uneven ground, which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility.

This stop is intended for sightseeing and beach photography rather than supervised swimming.

Visitors must observe any restricted areas and local safety instructions. Access may be limited during severe weather or unsafe beach conditions.

  3. Yonaha Maehama Beach

    one hour

Continue to Yonaha Maehama Beach, famous for its long stretch of fine white sand and clear turquoise water.

Stroll along the shoreline and enjoy the striking contrast between the bright sand and the deep blue sea.

Take photographs of the beautiful coastal scenery, with views extending toward Kurima Island and Kurima Bridge.

Relax by the beach, feel the sea breeze, and enjoy one of Miyakojima's most celebrated natural attractions.

The beach provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the island's relaxed atmosphere and beautiful seaside landscape.

Public beach access is free. Restaurants, showers, equipment rentals, and other privately operated facilities may have separate charges.

Swimming, water sports, and marine activities are not included. Guests must check local safety conditions before entering the water.

  4. Kurima Bridge

    15 min

Travel across Kurima Bridge, a beautiful ocean bridge connecting Miyako Island with the peaceful island of Kurima.

Admire the vivid colors of the surrounding sea as you cross the bridge and enjoy views of the coastline from your private vehicle.

The bridge offers another perspective on the island's famous turquoise waters.

This section is primarily a scenic drive. Photography stops are available only in designated, legally accessible areas.

  5. Ryugujo Observatory

    45 min

Visit Ryugujo Observatory, a distinctive castle-style viewpoint located on Kurima Island.

Inspired by the legendary underwater Dragon Palace, the observatory is an interesting landmark surrounded by beautiful island scenery.

Climb to the upper observation level for panoramic views over Yonaha Maehama Beach, Kurima Bridge, and the surrounding ocean.

Enjoy the contrast of white beaches, green island landscapes, and different shades of Miyako Blue.

Take time to photograph the coastline and admire the scenery from this elevated perspective.

The upper observation levels involve stairs and may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

Access depends on local operating and safety arrangements.

  6. Stop 6

    1 h 10 min

Finish your island sightseeing journey at Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, a spectacular coastal headland at the eastern end of Miyakojima.

Enjoy views across the Pacific Ocean and East China Sea while walking through the open coastal landscape.

Admire the long, narrow headland and its distinctive white lighthouse, surrounded by rugged limestone scenery and sweeping ocean views.

Take photographs from the designated coastal viewpoints and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze.

Visitors may choose to enter the lighthouse separately when it is open. The observation area at the top is reached by approximately 97 steps.

Lighthouse entry is optional and subject to its operating hours and weather conditions.

Strong winds, heavy rain, or other unsafe conditions may limit access to exposed coastal areas.
