Day 1 · Arrival in Chennai

Begin your exploration with a visit to the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a fine example of Dravidian architecture dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple’s colorful gopuram (tower) and intricate carvings make it a true cultural landmark of the city.

   Later in the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Marina Beach, one of the world’s longest city beaches, where you can soak in the sea breeze and watch the sunset.

Day 2 · Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

   Visit the Shore Temple, beautifully situated by the sea and one of the earliest stone temples in South India.

   Pancha Rathas

   Explore the Pancha Rathas, five monolithic rock-cut temples shaped like chariots, each dedicated to a different form of the Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata.

   Pondicherry

   2 hours

   Later, continue your journey to Pondicherry. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 3 · Pondicherry – Spiritual & Cultural Discovery

   Later, visit the Manakula Vinayagar Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha and famous for its resident temple elephant that offers blessings. End your day exploring Pondicherry’s local markets filled with handicrafts and souvenirs.

Day 4 · Pondicherry – Kumbakonam

   Next, explore the Kumbeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, admired for its majestic towers and intricate stone sculptures. In the evening, stroll through the colorful streets of Kumbakonam, famous for its brass and bronze handicrafts.

Day 5 · Excursion to Thanjavur & Gangaikonda Cholapuram

   After breakfast, take a day trip to Thanjavur, the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. Visit the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest achievements of Chola architecture. The temple’s massive central tower and monolithic Nandi (bull statue) are truly awe-inspiring.

   Arulmigu Peruvudaiyar Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram

   2 hours Admission included

   Continue to Gangaikonda Cholapuram, built by Rajendra Chola I to commemorate his conquests. The temple here mirrors the grandeur of Thanjavur, with stunning sculptures and fine stone carvings. Return to Kumbakonam in the evening.

Day 6 · Kumbakonam – Tiruvannamalai
