Georgian cuisine is as diverse as its landscape. Khinkali is a national meal of Georgia and an absolute must-try once here. The short story says khinkali originated in the rugged mountains to the north of Tbilisi, where people claim to have invented it. Nowadays, every region makes it with its own twist.

A well-known place specializing in serving khinkali. Rather hidden boho brick-lined basement on the Mtatsminda hillside, but once you’ve been here you’re likely to keep coming back, as these khinkali are some of Tbilisi’s best. The thin dough and delicious fillings are super simple but utterly mouth-watering, and you will be able to try Georgian wines made in traditional and European ways.
