Follow the path of the mighty Danube to your first stop, the Golubac Fortress. Perched on towering cliffs at the river’s widest point, this medieval stronghold enchants visitors with its mystical towers and fairytale-like atmosphere. Climb to one of the fortress’s viewpoints, and you’ll understand why locals claim the Danube resembles the sea from this vantage point.
