About this activity

Discover a peaceful and lesser-known side of Venice with this 4-hour private tour to San Michele Island, the city’s historic cemetery set between Venice and Murano. Led by a licensed English-speaking guide, this unique experience combines history, art, architecture, and reflection in one of Venice’s most atmospheric locations.

Meet your guide at Piazzale Roma and begin with a short walk to the vaporetto stop. Enjoy a scenic boat ride across the lagoon to San Michele Island, where your guided exploration begins.

Surrounded by cypress trees and tranquil waters, San Michele offers a quiet contrast to Venice’s bustling streets. As you walk through the cemetery, your guide will reveal stories behind its historic tombs, inscriptions, and notable figures who chose this island as their final resting place.

This tour offers a reflective and culturally rich perspective on Venice, ideal for travelers seeking a deeper and more meaningful connection to the city.
