Itinerary

  1. Loch Ness Region

    30 min

This is your chance to hunt for Nessie! Did you know that she was first sighted way back in 565 AD? Somewhere within the 23 mile stretch of Loch Ness is the legendary home of the Loch Ness Monster.

Loch Ness is one of the Highlands’ most iconic landscapes, surrounded by dramatic mountains and beautiful scenery. Along its shores are breathtaking viewpoints and scenic spots where we can stop, take in the views and keep a watchful eye on the water.

Nessie has inspired countless stories, sightings and legends over the centuries, making a visit to Loch Ness about more than simply looking for a monster. It is a chance to experience the scenery, atmosphere and mystery that have made this loch famous around the world.

Keep your eyes peeled, camera ready and Nessie radar switched on. You never know what might be hiding beneath those deep, dark waters!

  2. Urquhart Castle

    1 h 10 min Admission included

We’ll take you to the famous medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness, where you’ll have time to explore the castle and its dramatic setting at your leisure.

The site has a long and fascinating history, with traditions linking it to St. Columba and an earlier Pictish fort. Through the centuries, Urquhart Castle became a mighty medieval stronghold and played a role in the struggles for Scottish independence, including the era of Robert the Bruce.

Today, the atmospheric ruins stand overlooking the legendary waters of Loch Ness, attracting visitors from around the world. Its striking setting has also made it a favourite location for filmmakers, including the Outlander television series.

Take your time among the ancient stone ruins, discover the castle’s turbulent past and enjoy spectacular views across Loch Ness.

  3. The Singleton Distillery

    1 h 30 min

Scotland is world-renowned for its whisky distilleries, and we’ll visit Glen Ord, one of the Highlands’ historic distilleries. Here, you can discover 12, 15 and 18 year old single malt whiskies, with some expressions exclusively available to the Southeast Asian market. If you’re looking for Glen Ord whisky, these special releases can be found in Asia or purchased directly at the distillery.

Visitors can enjoy whisky tastings for an additional fee, giving you the opportunity to discover the distinct flavours of Glen Ord. We leave this entirely up to you. You can choose to enjoy a tasting, or simply wander through the beautiful grounds and relax in the cosy bar.

It’s a relaxed way to experience Highland whisky at your own pace, whether you’re a whisky enthusiast or simply curious to try something from the region.

  4. Robertson's - The Larder & Highland Cows - Beauly

    30 min

We’ll take you to a local farm for the chance to meet a Hairy Heilan Coo, our beloved Highland Cow, along with other lovable farm animals. Get up close to these gentle, shaggy Highland icons and enjoy a relaxed taste of rural Scottish life.

The farm offers a lovely opportunity to step away from the main sights and experience a little of the countryside that makes the Highlands so special. Take some time to wander around, meet the animals and soak up the peaceful surroundings.

Before you leave, pop into the Farm Shop, where you’ll find a selection of Scottish produce and souvenirs. It’s a great place to pick up a little taste of Scotland or something special to remember your Highland adventure.

  5. Beauly

    1 h 5 min

For guests coming from Inverness, Beauly is a charming village with an abundance of places to eat, from lovely little cafés and gourmet restaurants to some of the best fish and chips around. Its mix of independent shops offers something for a wide range of interests, while a stroll around the historic Priory is a must, especially for Outlander fans. Beauly has also welcomed members of the Royal Family over the years, adding another interesting chapter to the village’s story. Take your time to wander, browse the shops or simply enjoy the relaxed Highland atmosphere.

For guests arriving from the Cruise Port, we’ll stroll along the vibrant High Street of Inverness. Leave your sea legs behind as you step onto medieval cobbled streets, explore local Highland shops and discover cafés, restaurants and the character of the Capital of the Highlands. It’s a chance to experience the city at a relaxed pace while taking in its lively atmosphere and Highland charm.

  6. Culloden Moor

    1 h 45 min

Your guide worked at Culloden Battlefield for many years, giving him a wealth of first-hand knowledge of the battlefield, the local area and the events that shaped Highland history. When you step onto the field at Culloden, you’ll be accompanied by someone with a deep understanding of the 18th-century Highlands, clan life and the people who lived through this turbulent period.

Rather than simply pointing out locations, your guide can bring the landscape and its history into context, sharing stories and insights drawn from his years of experience at Culloden. Discover how Highland clans lived, the traditions and loyalties that shaped their world, and the events that led to the Battle of Culloden.

Your guide, John, is himself a Highlander, born and raised in the Highlands, with a personal connection to the culture, traditions and way of life he shares with you.

  7. Culloden Battlefield

    40 min Admission not included

Locals and visitors alike come to Culloden to pay their respects to the fallen, remembering the men who lost their lives in the final battle of the Jacobite Rising. The battlefield remains a place of remembrance, with memorial stones marking the graves of those who died here.

For those who would like to explore the history in greater depth, the Visitor Centre houses a world-class museum with exhibitions exploring the battle, the Jacobite cause and the people caught up in the events of 1746. Admission to the Visitor Centre is separate, and tickets can be purchased directly at the centre should you wish to visit.

  8. Clava Cairns

    50 min

Have a wander through the mystical 4,000 year old Clava Cairns and discover one of Scotland’s most remarkable prehistoric burial sites. Explore the ancient passage graves, ring cairns and standing stones.

Archaeology tells us that the cairns were built around 2000 BC and used for burial and ritual activities. Some were later reused for additional burials, showing that the site remained significant for generations. The arrangement of the cairns and standing stones also suggests careful planning, with several features aligned towards the midwinter sunset.

For Outlander fans, Clava Cairns is widely associated with the fictional Craigh na Dun, inspired by the ancient standing stones here. We hope to bring a little Outlander magic to your visit, while always respecting the significance of this ancient site. We’ll have Highland dress for you to try on, so you can channel your inner Claire or Highlander, strike your best Craigh na Dun pose and capture memorable moments.
