The cathedral was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 1931. The Plaza de la Catedral houses both the Cathedral and the Baroque Santiago church, built in 1635.

  2. El Populo

    30 min

Old-town core El Pópulo is dominated by the towering, baroque Cádiz Cathedral and its older, smaller neighbor, Santa Cruz church. Narrow streets lined with leather shops and tapas bars open onto grand plazas where crowds eat on lively restaurant terraces.

    30 min

Laid-back La Viña is a traditional fisherman’s quarter, where buzzing Andalusian taverns and tapas bars serve regional fino sherries and grilled razor clams. Every year, vibrant carnival celebrations take place in quaint squares like Plaza Tío de la Tiza and along narrow streets lined with colorful townhouses. A small garden overlooking La Caleta beach is shaded by the Arbol del Mora, a long-standing mulberry tree.

  4. Monumento A Las Cortes De Cadiz

    30 min

Every Spanish city worth its salt has a Plaza de España, so of course, the constitution city is going to join in. The Plaza de España in Cádiz is a vast meeting point that is surprisingly peaceful, with the massive Monument to the Cortes of Cádiz found in its centre.

  5. Plaza de Las Flores
