    Begin your adventure in Hurricane, the gateway to Zion National Park and the spectacular Zion Scenic Byway. Founded by Mormon pioneers in 1896, this charming desert town is surrounded by dramatic red cliffs and is known for its fascinating pioneer history, nearby dinosaur tracks, outdoor recreation, and easy access to Zion, Sand Hollow State Park, and Quail Creek State Park. It's the perfect place to fuel up, grab a bite to eat, and start one of Utah's most scenic drives.

    This massive sandstone formation resembles a resting lion watching over Zion Canyon. It's been a favorite landmark for travelers entering Zion for generations and makes a fun photo stop.

  8. Zion Canyon Visitor Center

    Learn about the Southern Paiute, Mormon pioneers, early explorers, and the creation of Zion National Park through exhibits, artifacts, and an excellent orientation film.

  9. Stop 9

    Drive through one of America's greatest engineering achievements. Opened in 1930, this mile-long tunnel was carved through solid sandstone and features unique windows that frame spectacular canyon views.
