The extraordinary Siena Cathedral with its Gothic façade boasts masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello, Bernini, Nicola and Giovanni Pisano. The marble inlay floor with biblical stories is magnificent, entirely visible from 27 June to 31 July and from 18 August to 16 October. The Piccolomini library built in the 16th century and frescoed by Pinturicchio is beautifully preserved.
