About this activity

The sight of dust red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. Along with the 300km long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust–red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species Game in Tsavo East includes the famous Big 5. Other sought after species are black rhino, hirola antelope, mongoose, giraffe, bat-eared fox, hyrax, Grevy's zebra, ground pangolin, Sykes's monkey, black faced vervet monkey and dik dik, to name but a few. Over 500species of bird been recorded in the area, including ostrich, kestrel, starling, weaver bird, kingfisher, buzzard, hornbill, secretary bird and heron.

Itinerary

Day 1 · Diani/Mombasa/Malindi/Watamu Beaches - Tsavo East National Park

Tsavo National Park East

Our driver guide will pick you from coastal hotel at 6.00am and drive for 4hrs to Tsavo East National Park Start your morning game drive at 10.00am through this vast plain. Have a chance to spot herds of Lions, Buffaloes, Red Elephants, Giraffes, Impalas, Zebras, Gazelles, Waterbucks, and different bird species. Your Game drive will continue until 12.30pm when you will Check-in and have lunch at the Lodge. After lunch relax till 04.00pm. Afternoon game drive will start at 4.00pm till 6.00pm back to Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge, Sentrim Tsavo East, or Voi Safari Lodge, all located in the heart of Tsavo East Park.

Day 2 · Tsavo East National Park - Diani/Mombasa/Malindi/Watamu Beaches

The day starts with an early cup of coffee, then proceed for the morning game drive (lasts for 1hour 30min).later drive back to the lodge for breakfast. After ward’s check out of the lodge for the last game drive viewing en route as you exit the park, drive back to your beach hotel for lunch.
