Jiankou is an unrestored wild wall — that's exactly what makes it special. Reaching the Wall itself involves about an hour of walking up a gravel mountain path from where your vehicle parks. A reasonable level of fitness is required, so please consider this before confirming your booking.

Jiankou is an unrestored wild section of the Great Wall, which is exactly what makes it special. To reach the Wall, you'll need to walk about one hour up a gravel mountain trail from where your vehicle parks. Please prepare in advance: wear sturdy hiking footwear with good grip, bring plenty of drinking water, and carry sun protection (hat, sunscreen). A reasonable level of physical fitness is required, as the trail is uneven and uphill. Check the weather before you go, and be ready for changing conditions on the mountain.
