  1. Lagoa das Furnas

    Optional 1 hour hike along the Furnas Lake Trail.

  2. Caldeira das Furnas

    30 min Admission included

    If a volcanic stew 'Cozido' is your lunch preference, this is the place to see it being slow cooked in a volcanic vent for 6 hours.

  3. Parque Terra Nostra

    2 hours Admission included

    When it Furnas, why not take a dip in the volcanic hot springs, and let those healing waters work their magic! Definitely one of the highlights of this region.

    Following your swim, you'll be given the opportunity to stroll around the 14 hectare botanical gardens, before heading off to lunch.

  4. Stop 4

    one hour

    A 3 course lunch including São Jorge cheese and the traditional volcanic 'Cozido':

    (A traditional Portuguese dish composed of various meats (for example: bacon, ribs, chicken, chouriço and morcela; a Portuguese blood sausage) and vegetables (cabbage, potatoes, carrots, taro and sweet potato. All the ingredients are buried in a volcanic vent and slow cooked for 6 hours) it's yummy!

  5. Caldeira das Furnas

    A visit to this bubbling and steaming area is not to be missed;

    especially when you are given the chance to sample some of the natural mineral waters that flows directly from the springs of this region into the town for your consumption.

  6. Plantacoes de Cha Gorreana

    Teas anyone?

    Cha Gorreana is one of only 2 tea plantations in the whole of Europe. So as we are passing, let's pop in for a cuppa!

  7. Miradouro de Santa Iria

    20 min

    With it's spectacular 180° view over the rugged north shore coastline, this has to be one of the most stunning viewpoints on the island!
