One leisurely stroll opens seven homes to the visitor, seven cultures, including the famous longhouses of Borneo. It’s popularly known as SCV, the Village is a “living museum” showcasing the seven major ethnic races of Sarawak; Iban, Bidayuh, Penan, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Malay and Chinese. Each ‘house’ is an exact replica of traditional dwellings down to the type of wood, landscaping and carvings with the various communities. Each building has a “storyteller” who is an expert in describing and interpreting traditional cultures and lifestyles. They will happily pose with you for photos.
