The palace is an architectural wonder even by modern standards, rising 13 stories from the Red Hill and contains over 1000 rooms. There are daily tours of three stories featuring golden stupas, prayer halls and chapels, but tickets are limited. Your guide will book tickets in advance but visiting times often change, so it’s good to be flexible with your time to be able to enjoy this marvel.
