    Note: The tour is over 1.7 miles long, with more than 33 audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete.

    Founder Juan Genopoly wanted to give back to his community, who had worked hard to earn their place here. How hard, you might wonder? Well Genopoly was one of thousands of indentured servants who arrived here on the promise of owning land in exchange for unpaid labor. Of those thousands, only 600 survived the brutal plantation work.

Well, on that fateful day back in 1565 when the Spanish conquistador planted the Spanish flag on this shore, a priest approached him after his victory. Father Lopez carried a hefty cross on his shoulders and offered it to the conqueror, all the while singing a hymn.
