Rising approximately 90 metres above the Old Town, the tower is one of Klagenfurt's most recognisable landmarks.

Walk towards Neuer Platz, the central square and one of the most important landmarks of Klagenfurt. At its centre stands the magnificent Lindwurmbrunnen, depicting the legendary dragon-like creature that has become the city's symbol and heraldic animal.
The Renaissance monument was created between 1583 and 1593 from a single block of local chlorite schist. The figure of Hercules, representing the legendary slayer of the Lindwurm, was added in 1636 together with the fountain basin and decorative wrought-iron grille. Take time here to hear the fascinating legend behind the creature and admire one of the city's most photographed monuments.
