Snaefellsnes National Park tour from Reykjavik - personalized experience with local meal included. Group size is 17 max. This fascinating journey is culminating right about the halfway point at the mighty 1,450 meter Snæfellsjökull volcano glacier - made famous in the novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth''.

After crossing the Hvalfjörður through a 6 km underwater tunnel, you will visit small towns and fishing villages, see spectacular bird cliffs by the sea and beaches. On the northern side, we also stop by the picturesque church-shaped mountain Kirkjufell, which is accompanied by a wonderful little waterfall on the other side of the road. At Djúpalónssandur beach (may not be accessible in winter) we will allow those who feel up to it to try strength with the Stones of Trial.

The whole journey of Snæfellsnes peninsula circles around Snæfellsjökull glacier volcano which you can admire from several stops on the tour. Please note: the tour does not go on the glacier itself.

One of the first stops is to admire huge basalt columns called Gerduberg, they are so perfectly shaped into hexagons so they barely seem natural. (may not be accessible in winter)

Important: Please be ready outside your pickup location by 8:30 a.m. You will be picked up between 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. depending on the pickup list order and traffic. Please have your phone on and ready to receive a phone call during the pickup time if needed.
Please make sure you board on a minibus with Gateway to Iceland and not with any other company.
Pick up from some hotels in Reykjavik and otherwise designated bus stops. If you have put in a location where you cannot be picked up from, you will be contacted by email.
Duration of the tour is approximately 11-12 hours.
Warm, windproof and waterproof clothes and outdoor shoes are highly recommended.
Food and drinks are not included in the price of the tour, however, there are refreshment stops on the tour, therefore you do not need to bring your own food, you can purchase it at the restaurant/café.
Gateway to Iceland reserves the right to delay, alter or cancel any tour due to weather or any other unsafe conditions for the safety of our clients or if a minimum number of participants are not reached.
