Despre activitate
The history we hear of is often dominated by men, and this can also be said for the history of Florence and the influential Medici family. This private walking tour will take you to see some of the most famous monuments in the city, but through the eyes of the inspirational and influential women often overlooked.
As you make your way through these winding renaissance streets, you'll learn about the strategic marriages the Medici made with the royal families of Europe to secure their power. Hear of the women who came to Florence as brides, and see Palazzo Vecchio - where they lived. Learn how the decline of the Duchy of Tuscany is often blamed on the regency of two Medici women, and other untold stories.
Listen to the forgotten stories of women, both real and fictional, who played a part in influencing some of the most famous artists of all time. These sculptures and works of art capture different aspects of femininity your expert guide will help you understand.
