Qingyang Palace – the oldest and largest Taoist temple in southwestern China. Built over 1,800 years ago, it is known as "the No.1 Taoist Temple of Western Sichuan." Inside, you'll:
Light incense at the entrance. Try fortune‑telling by drawing a lot – you ask a question, shake a bamboo tube, and a Taoist monk will interpret your destiny in a few short lines. Rub the bronze goat in the main hall – locals believe touching it on the part that aches will heal you.

The most important Buddhist temple in Chengdu. Unlike bustling Taoist temples, this place feels peaceful and introspective – monks in saffron robes walk quietly under ancient cypress trees, and the air smells of sandalwood incense. You will:
Walk through the grand halls, including the Sutra Library which holds Buddhist scriptures carved from thousands of blocks.
Take the iconic photo at the monastery's red wall – just outside the main gate, the wall features two Chinese characters, "幸" and "福" (happiness and good fortune). It's the most Instagrammed spot in Wenshu Monastery.
