Mount Soledad is an interesting San Diego landmark that also provides a chance to get a bird's eye view of the geography of San Diego. From atop this mountain, you can see all of Mission Bay, Downtown, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and more.
It is also a veteran's memorial and reading the plaques from various times in history, and seeing all five branches of the military represented provides a quiet respectful atmosphere to this destination.
