Despre activitate
On your visit to Ireland make sure to visit its best kept secret, Loughcrew's Ancient Passage Tombs, on this small-group walking tour. These passage tombs are over 5,000 years old, predate Newgrange and located just one hour from Dublin. Your 1.5-hour tour will begin at Loughcrew Megalithic Centre in Oldcastle, where you will visit the traditional Irish home of Maggie Heaney. Next you will walk to the highest point in the Boyne Valley giving you spectacular views over Ireland's Ancient East. Learn why our stone age ancestors built these extraordinary structures, hear the legend of the Cailleach (Witch), sit on her throne and enter the chamber of passage tomb ''Cairn T''. See the path the rising sun takes on the mornings of the Equinox. To finish you will make your journey back to Loughcrew Megalithic Centre for a well-deserved coffee and a scone.
