Itinerar
Discover Los Angeles in a whole new way: by solving a murder mystery! You will be tasked with solving the murder of silent movie director Rex King, who was visiting Los Angeles while filming on location in 1926. Gather the clues - outdoors and on the move - while visiting historical sites throughout the city! At each stop, you will search for the passcode to open up your next set of clues by reading readily accessible (and free) historical markers. Stops on this hunt include: Warner Brothers Studio, Hollywood and Vine, and the The Magic Castle (just to name a few). This 3.5 mile walk will visit 10 stops of historical significance, at which point you will assemble your clues, submit your response, and find out the solution! Each new webpage will have a part of the mystery and a riddle to solve or a sentence with a missing word - the or answer to the riddle is the next piece of the puzzle! You will find the answer by using clues physically around you at the site. The map embedded in each page will help you find which landmark to seek out.
When you solve the riddle and input the correct missing word, your next destination will appear! Make sure to hang onto the passcode, though. If you accidentally refresh the page, it will take you back to the passcode input, so you’ll want to keep those handy so that you can review the clues at the end.
As you go on your journey, we recommend screen-shotting each page or maybe deeming a member of your party as the official note-taker.
History may never change, but the landscape of the present is changing all the time! If a marker is missing, please contact us at [email protected] and let us know. Your safety is our top priority!
