Regensburg Self-Guided City Walking Tour & Scavenger Hunt

Starting at Emmeramsplatz 3 in central Regensburg, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and set off into a UNESCO World Heritage old town that has barely changed in 800 years. No guide, no fixed start time. Your first landmark is Dom St. Peter, Regensburg's magnificent Gothic cathedral. Construction began in the 13th century and continued for over 600 years — the riddles draw your attention to the extraordinary stained glass and the architectural details most visitors rush past. From the Dom, the route leads to the Steinerne Brücke, the medieval stone bridge spanning the Danube since 1146. For centuries it was the only permanent crossing of the upper Danube, making Regensburg one of Europe's most important trading cities. The hunt ends at the Haidplatz, a broad medieval square lined with patrician towers and historic inns. The Goldenes Kreuz here once hosted Holy Roman Emperors, and the riddles bring this layered history back to life. The tour takes around 2 hours. Regensburg is extraordinary — and this hunt gives you the tools to understand exactly why.
