Florence has more masterpieces per square kilometre than almost anywhere on earth — and this tour gives you access to the stories behind them.
This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Florence on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.
- Follow clues to the Chiesa di Orsanmichele, the bronze Fontana del Porcellino, and the Casa di Dante Alighieri — medieval Florence at its most atmospheric
- Start anytime and walk the centro storico at your own pace, ducking into piazzas and alleyways as the riddles lead you
- Photo tasks and trivia keep every group engaged — great for art lovers, families, and curious travellers of all ages
Available in 24 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian — see the full list when booking and choose yours when you start the game in the app.
Around 2 hours - any group size.
Dante wrote the Inferno here — don't worry, this tour is considerably less hellish.

Itinerar
Starting at Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini, 50123 Firenze, open the Explorial app and enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message to begin. The route takes you into the historic centre of Florence, through piazzas and medieval streets packed with stories. The first riddles lead you to the Chiesa di Orsanmichele — a uniquely beautiful church built on the site of a grain market, whose exterior niches hold some of the greatest Renaissance sculpture in the world. From here, the trail winds through the market district to the Fontana del Porcellino, the bronze boar whose nose has been rubbed shiny by generations of visitors hoping for a return to Florence. The app then guides you to the Casa di Dante Alighieri, in the medieval neighbourhood where the author of the Divine Comedy was born and raised, giving you a glimpse of Florence as Dante himself would have known it. Around 2 hours of walking, any group size. A fully charged smartphone with mobile data is required.
