Nowadays, Münsterplatz is characterized by powerful cathedral courtyards from the Baroque period, built at a time when Constance was still an important seat of a bishop. Today, it is hard to imagine that the square served as a cemetery for centuries. Some ghost phenomena are said to have already existed here: for example, long shadows are reported, which are said to have stretched over the cathedral manors, whereupon the cathedral man in question met his death.
