At Gokōnomiya Shrine, we learn about its long history and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this traditional Shinto shrine. We also drink the famous sacred spring water, believed to bring purification and good health. This water, known as Fushimi’s famous underground water (Fushimizu), is the same source that has supported the local sake brewing culture for centuries. Afterward, we continue to a local sake brewery, where we enjoy a tasting experience and learn about the traditional brewing process of Fushimi sake.
