We start with the popular night market at Wangfujing Street, a pedestrian-only zone. Good place for a snack. Are you brave enough to try delicacies like roasted centipede, grilled grasshopper, or spicy spider? Next we visit Yandaixiejie Street, deep in the protected old city. About a 5 minute walk away is Houhai Lake in the Shichahai neighborhood, Amid the ancient city find an enchanting nightlife: cafes, bars, teahouses and restaurants, some that stay open until 2:00 am. Next you'll see from the comfort of your private car two of the city's brightest lanterns: the Bird's Nest, where opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics took place, and the colorful Water Cube.
