Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula's Castle, is a historic fortress located near the town of Bran, close to the city of Brasov ( 35 min drive)
Perched atop a dramatic hill, the castle offers a pitoresque view of the surrounding landscape,
Built in the 14th century, it served both, as a fortress to defend against invassions and as a customs point betweenTransylvania and Wallachia.
The castle houses a museum that displays art and furniture collected by queen Marie, the last queen of Romania, as well as exhibits related to the history of the castle and its legends.
Bran Castle has become populariy associated with Bram Stoker's fictional character, Count Dracula.
