Skip the bus lines with a direct ride to Kamikochi’s central parking. Enjoy a scenic walk from the Kappa Bridge area toward Taisho Pond, with time for photos, viewpoints, and a flexible lunch break.

Later, visit Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan’s oldest original wooden castles. With pre-arranged admission, you can skip the ticket line and explore at your own pace while your guide shares helpful stories and context.

For Nagano departures, the tour normally returns to Nagano, with an optional end in the Matsumoto Castle area.

    Depending on your selected option, meet your guide in front of Beck’s Coffee, just outside the Shinkansen gates. Approx. 2.5-hour drive to Kamikochi.

    8:00 AM or 9:45 AM – Pickup at Matsumoto Station

    Depending on your selected option, your guide will meet you at the Alps (West) Exit – look out for our light yellow Toyota van. Approx. 1.5-hour drive to Kamikochi.

  3. Kamikochi

    3 ore

    Spend approximately 3 hours in Kamikochi. Our friendly local guide will lead a scenic loop walk from Kappa Bridge to Taisho Pond, where you can enjoy the lunch you bring with you, then return via Tashiro Bridge. Your guide will share insights into Kamikochi’s nature and history along the way. Great photo opportunities throughout the peaceful riverside and forest trail. After the walk, we will drive approximately 1.5 hours back to Matsumoto for the castle visit.

  4. Matsumoto Castle

    Our guide will introduce the history and significance of Matsumoto Castle (a national treasure of Japan) from the outside. Guests can then enjoy free time to explore the inside of the castle tower (admission not included) or stroll the surrounding historic streets.

    For guests who started from Matsumoto Station: You’ll be dropped off at Matsumoto Station in time for onward travel. If your hotel is closer to Matsumoto Castle, drop-off near the castle area is also possible.

Bringing your own lunch allows you to enjoy it freely while surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature.

  • This tour takes you straight into central Kamikochi in a fast, comfortable van—no lines, no transfers. Public buses are available but often involve long waits, and rental cars aren’t allowed. Large tour buses may be slower or stop farther from the main trails.
