Volubilis is the remnant of a Roman city built on the former site of a Punic-Berber city, which was the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, located in the Saïss plain, in northern Morocco, on the edge of the wadi Rhoumane, a river in the suburbs of Meknes. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail, who made the city his capital in the 17th century, has courtyards and fountains. Take your time to have a good lunch.
