Why is it called Dead Chest Island? What really happened on Norman Island? Who was Jost Van Dyke, and why is half the archipelago named after him?

A self-guided tour on your phone, built specifically for people discovering these stories by boat, not by tour bus: bareboat, crewed, sailing or power. Every anchorage in the BVI is hiding a story — a wreck, a smuggler, a legend nobody's quite sure is true.

Download before you leave home, then pick each anchorage as you arrive, in whatever order your charter takes you — narrated in audio by our friendly pirate guide, or read at your own pace in text. It runs fully offline, however far you are from a signal.

Along the way: a 50-question BVI quiz to settle who actually knows their history, and a digital treasure hunt played out across the islands. Snap photo and video challenges as you go, and at the end everyone receives their own digital album of the trip.

HOW TO START YOUR ADVENTURE

This is a self-guided audio and text guide on your mobile phone, for your BVI sailing charter. No guide, no fixed times: use it at each anchorage as you sail.

IMPORTANT: DOWNLOAD BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

The tour is large and Wi-Fi in the BVI is limited, so please download it at home on a good Wi-Fi connection before you fly. Once downloaded, it works offline at every anchorage.

STEP 1: GET THE APP

Download the free ACTIONBOUND app from the App Store or Google Play.

STEP 2: COPY YOUR TOUR CODE

Press and hold the code below, then tap Copy:

STEP 3: FIND AND DOWNLOAD YOUR TOUR (on Wi-Fi)

1. Open the Actionbound app and tap FIND A BOUND.

2. Tap SECRET BOUNDS (the padlock).

3. Paste your code into the box and tap GO TO BOUND.

4. Scroll down and tap DOWNLOAD BOUND.

In the app your tour is called PIRATES & PORTS: A BVI BOATING ADVENTURE.

STEP 4: START WHEN YOU'RE READY

Tap START BOUND, type a nickname, tick "I agree" and tap LET'S GO! Choose each anchorage from the list as you arrive. Your progress is saved, so you can use it across your whole charter.

AT THE END
