The route begins in Nazareth and continues through Sepphoris, Cana (Kafr Kanna), the Horns of Hattin, Mount Arbel Cliffs, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Tabgha, and the Mount of Beatitudes. The church was built on the site of the Church of Nutrition, which was mentioned by the pilgrim Arculfe in "De locis sanctis" (II, 26) around 670, then a crusader church of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the vestiges of which can be found under the crypt, and a Franciscan church built in the 17th century.
