First major national museum dedicated to the Mediterranean, Mecca of modern architecture and heritage, the Mucem is a cultural city open to the sea. Visit the building and go to the roof to admire the view and join Fort Saint-Jean with one of the footbridges.

Built in Byzantine style, it is one of the largest churches in France. Its construction extends over 40 years, between 1852 and 1893, at the time when Marseille is the first port of France and serves as a stopover for ships from around the world.
