    Begin your walk beside the outdoor airplane display on Avenida Rafael E. Melgar. Meet your local guide and enjoy an introduction to Cozumel’s history and cultural identity before continuing along the waterfront. This is an outdoor stop; we do not enter the military base.

    Explore Cozumel’s Maya heritage and the arrival of the Spanish through the monuments along this section of the waterfront. At the Monumento a la Hispanidad and the statue of Juan de Grijalva, your guide shares stories of the encounters that shaped the island’s history.

    Along the way, see the statue of the Maya goddess Ixchel and the exterior of Santa Cruz Church, learning about their significance to Cozumel. Stop at a modern replica pyramid, a contemporary cultural monument rather than an ancient ruin, to enjoy a live Maya dance presentation.

  3. Monumento Al Mestizaje

    Hear the story of Gonzalo Guerrero and his life among the Maya at the Monumento al Mestizaje. Your guide explains how the monument represents family, cultural connections, and identity, adding a personal dimension to the region’s history.

    Walk along Cozumel’s waterfront and enjoy Caribbean views as your guide shares stories about island life and its connection to the sea. Across from the Island Museum, pause by the stranded boat for photos and a brief talk about hurricanes and Cozumel’s coral reefs. Along the way, discover seaside monuments and details you might otherwise miss. The museum is viewed from outside only; no interior visit is included.

  5. Benito Juarez Park

    Finish your walk at Benito Juárez Park in the heart of downtown Cozumel. Discover the atmosphere of the main square as your guide shares a final perspective on local life. Ask for restaurant and shopping recommendations, or directions to nearby transportation. Return transportation is not included.

  • Meet your guide beside the outdoor airplane display at the Military Air Base on Avenida Rafael E. Melgar. Do not enter the base. Look for your guide wearing a white shirt with the Corazón Cozumel logo. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure. Every scheduled departure times are local Cozumel time.

  • The tour ends at Benito Juárez Park in downtown Cozumel, a convenient location to continue exploring local restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. Your guide can offer recommendations and directions to nearby transportation options. Return transportation is not included.
